May4th, 2014: 85 anniversary of Audrey Hepburn (!)
The beautiful actress who played the main character of the american legendary film “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” who
was is an icon of the perfect funny, smart and sparking LADY.
The official music video of today’s song is -of course- settled in New York just as this movie featuring yellow cabs and glimpses of 5th avenue and Central Park.
“Deep Blue Something”
The american rock band from the 90’s who released this song and nowadays is considered a “one-hit-wonder”. We can watch its four members in the video as they casually have breakfast at Tiffany’s 😉
It seems that basically the song just makes a reference to the movie BUT in its context it also was inspired out of it.
The same story of a couple in which the man is completely in love but the woman argues that there’s nothing they have in common still there’s no way to deny that it is love but also there’s no way to stop it from ending…
What I loved about this song is that its full chorus is made out of a conversation between two lovers who -just like me- liked the film.
…And the beautiful lyrics (spanish/english):
You say that we’ve got nothing in common
No common ground to start from
And we’re falling apart
You’ll say the world has come between us
Our lives have come between us
Still I know you just don’t care
And I said “what about Breakfast at Tiffany’s?”
She said, “I think I remember the film and as I recall,
I think, we both kind of liked it.”
And I said, “Well, that’s the one thing we’ve got.”
I see you, the only one who knew me
And now your eyes see through me
I guess I was wrong
So what now? It’s plain to see we’re over,
And I hate when things are over
When so much is left undone
